These are some tips which may help you while you use firefox or maybe some other browser:
1. Press ALT+D to directly go to the adress bar.
2. Press CNTRL+TAB to switch between tabs. And pressing CNTRL+SHIFT+TAB switches tabs in opposite directions.
3. Suppose you want to visit google.com, you may only type google and press CNTRL+ENTER.
CNTRL+ENTER is shortcut for .com, SHIFT+ENTER is shortcut for .net and SHIFT+CNTRL+ENTER is shortcut for .org. Try it...
4. Pressing CNTRL+W will close the active tab you are working on.

6. Pressing CNTRL+SHIFT+P will let you browse anonymously. In a Private Browsing session, Firefox won't keep any browser history, search history, download history, web form history, cookies, or temporary internet files.  However, files you download and bookmarks you make will be kept.
7. When you type "about:config" in address bar in firefox it will take you to configuration settings while typing "about:sessionrestore" in the same place and pressing enter will help you restore your previous session. For more information on firefox session resotre please visit -->  mozillazine
